The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including more than 227,300 Mazda SUVs for a rearview camera issue and over 110,000 Toyota Corollas because the air bags may not deploy properly.
Nissan also recalled about 66,000 vehicles for a unintended acceleration problem.
Car owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls. The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number, or VIN.
Here are the vehicle recalls published by the NHTSA from July 15 to July 22.

Mazda recalls 227,300 Mazda3 and CX-3 vehicles for rearview camera display issue
Mazda is recalling 227,335 of its 2014-2018 Mazda3 and 2016-2021 CX-3 vehicles because the rearview camera image may not display properly by showing a flickering or distorted image. The distorted image in the camera could increase the risk of a crash, according to a NHTSA safety report.

Toyota recalls 110,000 vehicles for deactivated air bag
Toyota is recalling 110,047 of some of its 2023 vehicles because the air bag may not be deploying properly, increasing the risk of crashes.
This is occurring because of an electrical connection inside the steering column's spiral cable assembly that may not be welded sufficiently, which could cause the connection to separate and deactivate the driver's air bag, according to a NHTSA safety report.

Nissan recalls 66,000 LEAF vehicles for unintended acceleration issue, which could cause crashes
Nissan is recalling 66,159 of its 2018-2023 LEAF vehicles because the vehicle could unintentionally accelerate if the driving mode is changed after ending cruise control mode, including changing the mode from D to B, turning the e-Pedal on, or turning on ECO mode.
The unintentional acceleration could increase the risk of crashes, according to a NHTSA safety report.

Tesla recalls 15,000 Model S and X vehicles for seat belt issue
Tesla is recalling 15,869 of its 2021-2023 Model S and Model X vehicles because the seat belts in the front row of the vehicles may not be connected properly to the pretensioner anchors and detach.
The detaching could increase the likelihood of an injury if the car should crash, the NHTSA recall acknowledgement said.

Nissan recalls 11,800 Versa and Kicks vehicles for loss of power steering assist issue
Nissan is also recalling 11,824 of its 2021 Versa and Kicks vehicles due to an electrical connection in the vehicle's electric power steering torque sensor can potentially disable the power steering assist. This could increase the risk of a crash, the NHSTA safety report states.

Jaguar recalls 3,100 XE vehicles for rearview camera display issue
Jaguar is recalling 3,134 of its 2019 Jaguar XE vehicles due to an issue where the rearview camera image may not appear on the display.
According to the NHSTA recall acknowledgement, this is occurring because of wiring damage in the vehicle's trunk and could increase the risk of a crash.

Tesla recalls 1,300 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles for misaligned camera
Tesla is also recalling 1,337 of its 2023 Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles due to the forward-facing camera possibly being misaligned.
The misalignment could cause some of the vehicle's active safety features like emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane assist to become unavailable without the driver knowing, which could lead to an increased risk of crashes.

McLaren recalls 600 600LT Coupe and Spider vehicles for coolant leak
McLaren is recalling 652 of its 2019-2020 600LT Coupe and Spider vehicles due a joint between the vehicle's temperature sensor housing and the hose from its outboard radiator not being sealed properly.
This can result in coolant leaking into the engine compartment, which could increase the potential of a fire, according to the NHSTA recall acknowledgement.

BMW recalls 300 740i, 760i xDrive and i7 xDrive60 vehicles for interaction bar malfunction
BMW is recalling 384 of its 2023 740i, 760i xDrive and i7 xDrive60 vehicles that have a Interaction Bar that may not be working properly.
According to the NHSTA recall acknowledgement, the Interaction Bar may not be activating the windshield defrosting and defogging system properly. Additionally, the hazard warning lights may not be activated properly, and the control buttons may not light up when they are pressed.

Toyota recalls nearly 200 RAV4 vehicles for valve stem issue
Gulf States Toyota is recalling 195 of its Toyota RAV4 vehicles that have 17" black alloy accessory wheels. When the wheels were being installed, the vehicle's tire valve stem may have been improperly installed or damaged and the load carrying capacity label may state the incorrect weight.
These issues could lead to an air leak or underinflated tires, which could increase the risk of tire failure and crashes, according to the NHSTA recall acknowledgement.
